Meet Reece Wilkinson, our inspiring young fundraiser from Dundee!
Over the past year, 14-year-old Morgan Academy pupil Reece has raised more than £600 for Freddie’s Ataxia Fund by handmaking and selling mini beanbag phone holders at school fairs and within his community. With the support of his teacher, Elaine Scott, Reece’s fundraising efforts are helping us provide vital grants for local people living with Friedreich’s Ataxia in Tayside. His creativity and kindness show the incredible impact young people can make through community fundraising.

A Remarkable First Year for Freddie’s Ataxia Fund

In just eight months, Freddie’s Ataxia Fund has gone from a hopeful idea to a registered Scottish charity making a real difference. Inspired by 15-year-old Eilidh Kiddie’s vision, the charity has raised over £21,000, launched a successful community event, and already awarded grants to support local people living with Friedreich’s Ataxia. As we look to 2025, we’re more determined than ever to grow our impact across Tayside and beyond.
